About the role
Design System Designer
Mayflower is looking for an experienced Design System Designer to help evolve and maintain its shared design system across product and engineering teams.
The role combines systems thinking, component design and collaboration with frontend engineers and product designers. You will work across Figma, Storybook and code to improve consistency between design and implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and evolve the existing design system and UI foundations.
Design and refine reusable components, controls, forms and interface patterns.
Develop and improve design-token architecture and theming.
Align Figma libraries, Storybook and frontend implementation.
Support design-to-code workflows using tools such as Figma Variables, Tokens Studio and Style Dictionary.
Create documentation, contribution guidelines and system standards.
Support component migrations and AI-assisted design-system workflows.
Key Requirements
4+ years of experience in design systems, design engineering or a related role.
Advanced Figma skills, including Variables, Auto Layout, component properties and shared libraries.
Understanding of CSS custom properties, SCSS and basic JavaScript.
Hands-on experience with Storybook.
Familiarity with Tokens Studio, Style Dictionary or similar tools.
Strong systems thinking and experience collaborating with designers and engineers.
